ENCODING/REAL TIME 3D VISUALISATION

Slide 1 Slide 2 Slide 3 Slide 4

Encoding refers to using, or mounting, optical encoders or sensors on manual or automated equipment to very accurately measure and record their motion. Encoding is widely used to aid in post-production giving the exact data of what a camera, lens or object was doing during filming.

Combined with Real Time 3D software it is also used to aid on set production by mixing in real time the live action elements that are being shot with 3D generated elements. This enables crews to see how the final shot will look, taking the guess work out of where to place elements while shooting. Encoding and Real Time 3D Visualisation saves countless hours on set and in post-production.

Anything can be encoded, sometimes just a single axis is encoded and sometimes 20 depending on the application. MrMoco can interface and encode a huge variety of equipment, including lenses, dollies (Fisher, Panther, etc.), Cranes (Louma, Techno-crane, GF, Panther, Scorpio, etc.), heads (O'connor, Ronford Baker, Sachtler, Panther, Manfrotto, Scorpio, Libra, Hothead, etc.) as well as winches.
